Past Perfect Continuous | Whitespace 2010

An installation work in which Micah and Whitney Stansell combine film/video and sculpture, drawing and painting and explore how the form of these methodologies influence one another. To this end, the drawings and paintings are presented as multi-part (diptychs, triptychs, etc.) and the film/video mirrors that as a multi-monitor installation. Also of importance is the way in which the content is effected by the form of each of these methodologies. The multi-part drawings/paintings borrow from ideas of editing within a film/video work, presenting images that respond to the concept of moving image montage. The film/video component reacts to the tangibility and dimensionality of the drawings/paintings and, most importantly, borrows its open and incomplete narrative structure from the "static" works.

Past Perfect Continuous | The Window Project 2011

The Window Project is a curated new media installation space in downtown Atlanta facing the southern end of Woodruff Park from the windows of the Digital Arts Entertainment Laboratory (DAEL). The infrastructure consists of seven high definition projectors synchronized to create a rear-projection screen that stands over six feet high and spans over 80 feet in width. Micah Stansell designed the space, and a version of his work Past Perfect Continuous is the inaugural video.
